Ah the Sunshine State of Florida – it’s like the old relaxed friend that knows what you like. I’ve been to many parts, South Beach, Orlando like a billion years ago and since joining Andrew’s family, now we frequent Sarasota – Turtle Beach to be exact. This year we were able to extend our trip a little longer than our usual three day weekend. We walked the downtown area while grabbing lunch, sat on the beach a lot (which is always my fave), did a little shopping and dining at their new mall and I tried deep sea fishing for the first time!
As you may have noticed my Instagram, Andrew and I took a liking to the shuffle board that is virtually on our building’s patio. I had high hopes for some lawn bowling however with all the relaxing to do, we didn’t find the time.
One thing I noticed this time around were the little design accents in Florida. Sometimes it can lend itself to be a bit tacky and tasteless but I chose to focus on the charming things including the pineapple toppers on this property wall and this little seahorse hook behind the bathroom door.
Picked these sandals up at J.Crew before we left and they were sooooo great. I’m so happy that slider came into style last year and have stuck around. So convenient and easy to wear.
We did A LOT of this… just chilling, reading, and drinking by the ocean. You could actually see a lot of wildlife which was neat – some people swam with manatees!
This little nook off the Tamiami Trail was just too adorable to not stop and take a picture. I would be happy to live in a place just like it – almost like whoville but with palm trees.
