I’ve been resisting purchasing too many maternity items however somethings I’ve been unable to avoid. Pants for one thing – totally necessity and the second thing would have to be shirts that are long enough to cover the belly. There’s nothing worse than it being a little short and your belly peaks out from underneath, not chic. Luckily, most brands now offer some form of maternity wear and you aren’t having to go to these god awful stores for your goods. Keeping things basic, I ordered some simple tee’s from ASOS’s maternity line and they were perfect! Great for layering for this time of year when I can’t quite seem to nail my outfits with the temperature (not to mention that I’m constantly just hotter than usual).

:: Hat, Jacket (old!), Blouse, Pants, Booties (old but similar) ::
Hellooooooo December! I’m still in disbelief at how quickly it has come but it’s here so I’m soaking in all the festivities this time of year has to offer. Continuing with my dark bohemian vibes that I’ve been feeling as of late – once I spotted this dark floral blouse, I just had to have it. It has that 70’s flare with the bell sleeves and can be paired with anything. My girlfriend and I even joked that the print would make a great pillow – it would, right? It’s getting to the point in fall where winter jackets are necessary however I’m trying to make use of my fall coats first. This large faux shearling jacket isn’t flattering, lets be honest but I do love it!
Obsessed with these boots – scored them at Rag&Bone in the summer on a sweet sale and I’ve been happy with that decision all fall long.
And this is just me getting awkward while taking outfit photos. A group of people my age were walking by and I still to this day get weird when people are in the space where we are shooting – just need to get over it already lol.
:: Skirt (on sale!), Top (old), Shoes, Clutch ::
I realize that I just posted about a suede dress last week but I’m honestly obsessed and have to stop myself from even looking at other options out there since I clearly can’t help myself. When I saw this skirt in blush, I was smitten. It adds a bit of delicacy to a naturally tough fabric. It’s perfect for a date night look or even a night out dancing with the girls (which I’m long over due for – girls, you in?). It’s officially the last day of summer and I’m rocking the bare legs as long as possible.
My friend (and former wedding photographer) Barb took these snaps and made me feel super pretty and womanly through her lens. Even though I love sharing outfits that I’ve put together, I’m not aways super cool in front of the camera but with her kind words and her camera, they turned out.
Even though the look is super sleek and chic, gotta make it a little more fun with string bracelets.
And me just being cheeky…
All photos take by the amazing Barb!
:: Dress (sadly has since sold out but ASOS carries a lot of great sueded pieces for great prices), Sandals (side note: I loved these sandals so much so that I wore through my first pair and purchased a second), Bag (old), Sunnies::
With this 70’s trend comes a lot of suede and I couldn’t be happier about it. I remember being younger when suede was in and my mom had it in everything from shoes to jackets and although it didn’t do much for me then, it’s really got me going now. I just love the texture and often neutral colours it is made in. As you can see this dress has since sold out but I knew it was a winner once I spotted it. It’s the perfect transitional piece but I have to admit that I was dying of heat in it with our current weather. Moving more into fall I could always throw on some tights to extend it’s life into winter.
It’s almost Valentine’s Day! This year more than ever will be super special because my best friend is getting married on Valentine’s Day. For some, this holiday is silly and pointless and for others it’s a time of year to show your love and affection to your partner in life. Whether you exchange gifts or not, I’m sure your love bug wouldn’t mind if you surprised them with something sweet.

Since Burberry’s FW 2013 show, I’ve been obsessed with the metal belt. It’s so polished, fun and just plain awesome. I’ve even considered (perhaps even still considering) working it into my wedding day. Since the price point on the Burberry belt is a little out of my range, I was so pleased when I found a company, a Canadian company at that, who makes a very similar belt at a much more reasonable price. I love this belt over a jacket, dressed up or down it’s really very versatile.
