Throughout the journey of pregnancy to birth you’re told many, many things. Honestly, I don’t think there’s another part of life where people will share their opinions and experiences more which can be equal parts helpful and overwhelming but there’s one part of our journey that caught me off guard and that would be the amount of friends and family that provided (and continue to do so!) their love, support, food and time to us. From the moment we arrived home, my Mom and Grandmother were there to help feed us and ease us into the transition of having a newborn around. My Dad helped out with Mackie (who had a rough first day adjusting with Stella) and friends near and far stopped by and dropped off croissants (clearly I’m not shy about sharing my love for the pastry, so many croissants…) and literally dropped everything to lend a helping hand. Flowers, gifts and beautiful cards were given in abundance and we are so thankful to each and everyone who did and continues to-do so. THANK YOU!
Back in October, A’s parents combined with our friends threw us a lovely baby shower and I knew I wanted to get started on my Thank You cards right away. I’m a huge fan of stationary and cards are important to me (I don’t fall into the “people just throw them out” camp) and I’m guessing people know this about me since I received some stellar cards! Since I knew that time was of the essence and having our return address on the envelopes was key, I wanted to order some online. I discovered this website, Basic Invite which offers almost unlimited colour options with instant previews online which is super fun to work with. Once you select a design you can change the colour of each element on the card to over 180 different colour options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it down to the littlest detail (which is just perfect for the designer in me). As you can see from the pics, I selected the stork and was able to change the smallest detail including the colour of the stork’s crown – so fun!
I’m attempting to seriously multi-task here…
Another great part of ordering from Basic Invite is that their envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly closed without licking a single one – I realize this sounds silly but it actually made a difference when you’re trying to crank out a larger quantity.
If you’re planning a baby shower (I’m currently planning one for my bestie and ordered some beautiful ones!) I recommend you check them out here. Or if you’re looking for something to say thanks, there’s a great selection here.
Thanks to Basic Invite for partnering on this post.
