As previously noted, this past weekend I threw my best friend a bridal shower in Ottawa – and I’m happy report that it turned out really well. When I offered up the theme of the roaring 20’s theme to the bride – she was pretty excited and I was also pumped to help bring that theme to life. I started with ordering the invites online that fit the theme. The bride had selected black and gold as theme colours for the big day so we followed suit for the shower.
We also wanted to list the theme as “optional” to participate so there wasn’t any stress in involved but also wanted to have some items on hand for guests if they wanted to join in on the fun once they arrived. I purchased the gloves and cigarette holders from an online party store and made the headbands.
I kept the florals pretty simple with some hydrangeas, babies breath along with alstroemeria in julep cups.
We made the most delicious Gin punch! It was the perfect amount of sweet and bitter and was called Blackberry-Gin Fizz. You can recreate with this recipe I found here. The napkins I shared in last week’s post were ordered form here.
I made the takeaways with the intention of not wrapping them with cellophane however after using the spray adhesive and allowing them to try we realized that it would create quite the mess.
Me and the bride-to-be.
The wedding is now only 10 days away and counting!
